Railway Recruitment Board, formally called as RRB conducts exams for various vacancies per year which is responsible to recruit candidates in Indian Railway. Railways recruit engineers for junior engineers every year with thousands of candidates applying. The junior engineer examination will tentatively be held from December 3, 2017 to December 5, 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this post, candidates must have three years Diploma from a recognized university and between the age limit of 18- 32 years. There is an upper age relaxation for other categories. For SC/ ST candidates, the age relaxation is by 5 years and OBC candidates; the age relaxation is by 3 years.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply for this vacancy online from the online website of RRB. Make sure to go through the instructions available on the website before applying. Log on through the website and click on the online link. Fill in all the required details and submit the application form. The fee payment can be done through net banking/ debit/ credit card/ challan form from any bank. There is no examination fee for candidates belonging to the SC/ ST, ex-servicemen, women, minorities and backward classes. There is an application fee of Rs. 100 for male candidates who aren’t within the exempted categories.

Admit Card 2017

The admit card will be available on the RRB official website a week before the examination. Search for the Junior Engineer call letter/ hall ticket link which will be displayed on the screen. Enter the required details and your admit card will be displayed on the screen. Save a copy of this and make sure to carry the hall ticket for RRB JE exam.

Exam Pattern

The JE written exam is conducted for a total of 150 questions and a time duration of 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks. The exam will cover 90 questions from technical ability and general science and 60 questions from general awareness, general intelligence, arithmetic and reasoning.

Result Date

Results are generally declared a couple of months after the exam date. If the candidate falls under the cut off list, they will be called for the interview.
