The IPU CET- Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test is a university level exam for admission in various UG and PG courses in the field of engineering, management, medical, law and research courses offered by the Indraprastha University. Students should have cleared class 12th exams for UG courses and scored a minimum of 55% marks inaggregate in physics, chemistry and mathematics and passed in each of these 3 subjects and a graduation degree for PG courses. The minimum age of candidates required is 17 years and 21 years for respective UG and PG courses.
Applying for CET
Candidates have to register and apply online for CET. The online application form availability starts from January 2017 onwards. The application fee is Rs. 1000 per course and can be remitted through online mode only. Students have to fill in the online applications with all required details. After uploading all the relevant documents, the payment of the fee can be done via debit/ credit card or net banking. The deadline of the online application is March 28, 2017 and the admit cards will be issued from the last week of April 2017, just a week before the examination date. The exam will be conducted in offline mode and is a written based test which will be asked in OMR pattern. The syllabus varies for different streams and courses. For each correct, +4 marks will be awarded and -1 marks deducted for any incorrect answer. The total marks for this test will be 600 marks excluding MBBS, PGMC and SSMC exams.
Exam and Result Dates
The IPU CET is scheduled to be on April 23, 2017 and the results will be declared on May 9, 2017. Candidates will have to go through the official website to find out their results and download their score cards. As per the marks obtained by the candidates, a merit list will be prepared by the university. To get admission into the desired colleges, candidates are required to score minimum cutoff marks. The counselling begin in the month of June and there is a separate process for counselling.
